"Your dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman and loose enough to show you're a lady." -Edith Head
AGREED. LADIES: please take note.
i like how every girl thinks she is a fashion know it all. they all think they are fashionable and wear this questionable piece or pile on trend after trend. PUH-LEASE. and its funny when other girls are pleasantly surprised that i actually know what i'm talking about. for the most part i look like a bum everyday with adidas pants+tshirt+sweatshits. Oh my gawd, i mean SWEATSHIRTS (i have nubs). so it appears that i am one with no fashion knowledge. they all want to be designers, publicists, or stylists. oh girls, if only it were that easy. and do try not to look so tacky. oh one more thing, THEY ALL THINK THEY ARE MODEL MATERIAL. dear lord, just because you worked at Hollister and love gucci, it DOES not mean you are a model/fashionista, so don't call yourself that. and then they post lame horrific pictures of them modeling, and its always the "pouty i'm so sexy" face in every shot. KILLING ME. besides, most places don't hire if you're under 5'9". that's just the reality. one thing to dream big another to be plain stupid. sorry.
ok here's my latest presentation: Look what I wore to the Met Ball! Part 1
(do appreciate it, cause it took me much time to look through the archives and search them all up. apparently style.com doesn't go very far back)
The supermodel, Miss. Raquel Zimmermann

The Ravishing Miss. Jessica Stam

WHAT AN AMAZING DIOR DRESS.

The chameleon, Miss. Sasha Pivovarova

The Angelic Miss. Lily Donaldson

oh i think this picture needs to be extremely large. Lily + Gemma = Perfection

it's hard to find pictures like such (especially older one), usually the met ball pics are saturated with those gosh darn annoying celebrity pics. i have oodles more, so stay tuned for part deux!

oh man fiquid, that whole first paragraph is spot on. I love the idea of bringing back pics of old met ball looks. All so darn beautiful!
love you lady,
miss bonqweekles
That is a shoe and a half :)
Jessica Stam always looks incredible. Great shoes, too!
creative post! i love how we get a refresher of what they wore in prior years...each year is different. guess there's always that expectation of attending with a new and fabulous look

I have to agree with your comments regarding the girls who think they're model material. And even those who are models... very few of them actually make it big (most end up flanking random celebrities in GQ or appearl in minor tv ads... if they're lucky. Mostlly it's lame catalog work, because they're not special enough for high fashion). LOVE those Met Ball photos... Jessica Stam's outfits are incredible and I love the Lily/Gemma shot!
Hi lady, I like the quote you used to introduce this post. I googled Edith Head out of curiosity and my first thought was that she must have been the inspiration for Edna Mode. LOOK: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edith_Head
Right? RIGHT???
